What do you think of beginning your safari with wildlife viewing on the foot of Mount Kenya before venturing to the Great Rift Valley lakes that are teaming with birds and even more wildlife?

The Itinerary Plan:

Day 1: Nairobi – Sweetwaters

Leave Nairobi and drive northwards passing vast plantations of pineapples and coffee. Continue with your journey arriving at the Equator or rather the centre of the Planet Earth, 16 km is Sweet Waters Serena Lodge arriving here in time for lunch. Start your afternoon safari at 1600 hours and visit the Chimpanzees. This is the only one of the safest sanctuaries for these primates which were rescued from other African countries and brought to Kenya as orphans. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and over night.

Day 2: Sweetwaters

After tea/coffee have an early safari in the Park looking for different predators namely African Hunting Dogs, Lions, Cheetahs, Leopards and Jackals. Also to be found are Hippos and other herbivorous animals. Drive back to the lodge for  breakfast and then relax at the swimming pool overlooking the waterhole until lunch time. Embark on your afternoon safari and visit the education center and meet Baraka the rhino that is used to people that you can even touch and no reaction from him. Drive leisurely back to the lodge for dinner and over night.

Day 3: Sweetwaters – Lake Nakuru

After an early breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park with a stopover at the Thomson’s Water Falls. After, proceed to Lake Nakuru arriving on time for lunch after check in. Relax after lunch until it cools down then start your safari. This is a home of Big Five animals as well as other plain animals like Zebra. To be seen here is also Flamingoes which operate between Lake Natron on the Northern side of Tanzania and Lake Bogoria for Breeding. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and over night.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Nairobi

We will this morning leave Lake Nakuru for Nairobi where this tour ends in the early hours of the afternoon.
